We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new support group for parents and caregivers at The Children’s Storefront! As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a strong community, this new initiative is designed to address the unique challenges and joys of raising young children in a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Starting in mid-February, our Graduate Intern, Dana Segal, will lead this new support group. Dana, who is currently pursuing her master’s degree in social work and holds a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology, brings a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate approach to her role. Her expertise will be invaluable in creating a space where parents and caregivers can connect, share experiences, and gain valuable insights.
The support group will run for 8 weeks as a pilot program and will cover a range of topics crucial for those navigating the journey of parenthood. These topics will include:
- Adjusting to the Transition of Parenthood: Strategies and support for managing the significant changes that come with having a new child.
- Building a Support Network: How to establish a network of support, ensuring parents have peers to turn to for questions or advice.
- Co-Parenting: Effective communication and collaboration between co-parents to foster a positive environment for the child.
This support group was developed in direct response to feedback and requests from our community members. We listened to your needs and designed this program to provide the support and resources that are most relevant to you. Our goal is to create a space where parents and caregivers can feel understood, empowered, and equipped with practical tools to enhance their parenting journey.
We are excited to offer this new resource and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our community.
