As the Executive Director of The Children’s Storefront, Lindsey leads a first-of-its-kind, free program that empowers parents to build their children’s brains in the first 1,000 days of life through the power of interactive play.
Lindsey, a proud resident of Harlem for the last 15 years, is a versatile nonprofit leader driven by a passion for strengthening organizations that support young people and their families, and improve the systems that shape their lives.
Prior to joining The Storefront, Lindsey held leadership roles at the National Guild for Community Arts Education, Greenwich House, and Girl Scouts of Greater New York, where she helped design and launch Troop 6000—a first-of-its-kind Girl Scout troop serving young people living in the New York City shelter system.
Lindsey Cosgrove, a proud resident of Harlem for the last 15 years, is a versatile nonprofit leader with experience in strategic planning, fundraising, board relations, strategic communications, volunteer management, and revenue generation. She has worked for over a decade to strengthen organizations that impact the lives of young people and their families, and the systems that shape them.
In August 2023, Lindsey joined the team at Greenwich House as the 120+-year-old settlement house’s first-ever Chief of Staff. Before joining Greenwich House, Lindsey most recently served as Chief Strategy Officer at Girl Scouts of Greater New York, the local Girl Scout council serving 25,000 families across the five boroughs of New York City.
Over her eight years with the organization, joining initially as a fundraiser, Lindsey raised millions of dollars; facilitated two strategic planning processes; guided marketing, public relations, and external communications for the highly recognizable brands of both Girl Scouts and Troop 6000, which she helped launch; and transitioned the Girl Scout Cookie Program in New York City, the organization’s flagship program and largest revenue source, to an e-commerce business. Before Girl Scouts of Greater New York, Lindsey worked to increase access to arts education at the National Guild for Community Arts Education.
Lindsey earned a B.A. in Music Education from the University of Mary Washington and an M.A. in Urban Education Policy from Brown University. She aspired to be a middle school band teacher before discovering her passion for the nonprofit sector. She plays five instruments and keeps a solid connection to the arts by serving as Chair of Pipeline Theatre Company’s Board of Directors.
